Marking Saki’s first full-length solo album, “Pluvia” brings together an impressive cast of musicians from across the international rock and metal scene. Greek guitar virtuoso Gus G. (Firewind, Ozzy Osbourne) joins Saki on “Flores a Flores”, while bassist Frédéric Leclercq (DragonForce, Kreator), who previously collaborated with Saki in “Amahiru”, makes an appearance on “Germinans”.

“Pluvia” also features respected Japanese musicians hibiki and Kagemaru on “Redemption“. And don’t forget the drummer Senri Kawaguchi, whose performances can be heard on both the title track “Pluvia” and album closer“Germinans”.

Saki‘s words about her work:

“Melody was one of the most important elements while creating this album. The word ‘pluvia’ became its central theme, as rain holds a special significance for me. It has been present at every major milestone concert in my life. In Japanese culture, rain deities and dragon gods are often regarded as guardians of the arts, so over time I’ve come to see rain as a symbol of good fortune and something deeply connected to my own journey”.

A founding member of Nemophila and lead guitarist of Mary’s Blood, Saki has become one of the most prominent figures in Japan’s modern metal scene. Her solo instrumental releases“Brightness” and “Germinans” both reached No. 1 on the iTunes Instrumental Charts in Japan, the UK and the US. Her work with Nemophila has taken her from sold-out headline shows in Japan to major international events including Aftershock Festival in the United States.

Outside Japan, “Pluvia” will be released by JPU Records with exclusive video-on-demand bonus content. The CD will include the music video for the song and a behind-the-scenes making-of documentary with English subtitles. Fans who pre-order the album through JPU Records will also have the chance to receive signed photo card from Saki. A great achievement for the guitarist of Mary’s Blood and former Nemophila.
