Author Benedetta Baldin - 29.10.2025

Swedish metal band Sabaton recently released their eleventh studio album, “Legends,” via Better Noise Music (the band’s first label release), as reported by blabbermouth.net. This comes after the band announced a big 2025 global tour, which includes a 31-date North American leg scheduled for early 2026. It includes the most recent single and music video, “I, Emperor,” which is based on the complicated and contentious life of Napoleon Bonaparte. Below is a half-hour behind-the-scenes documentary on the creation of the “I, Emperor” video.

Are you ready to go behind the scenes of “I, Emperor” – our nod to Napoleon? If you’ve wondered what it takes to bring one of our wildest music videos to life, step inside the chaos (the good kind) and meet the creative masterminds who turned a crazy idea into an epic visual tribute! “I, Emperor” is inspired by one of Pär’s favourite childhood obsessions – board games. This video is packed with nostalgia, fun and a whole lot of strategy… and trust us, the making-of was just as legendary as the final cut. Got your dice ready? Let’s play!

Sabaton, which consists of Joakim Brodén (vocals), Pär Sundström (bass), Chris Rörland (guitar), Thobbe Englund (guitar), and Hans Van Dahl (drums), explores some of the most cherished and iconic figures in history, including Genghis Khan, Vlad the Impaler, Julius Caesar, the Knights Templar, the fabled swordmaster Miyamoto Musashi, Jeanne D’arc (also known as Joan of Arc), Hannibal, Genghis Khan, the legendary swordmaster Miyamoto Musashi, and Julius Caesar. Sabaton’s sound and narrative have boldly evolved with its eleventh studio album, which dives deep into the lives of some of the most powerful and mysterious people in history. These are battle hymns crafted from the blood and legacy of warriors, monarchs, strategists, and revolutionaries; they are more than just rock songs.
