In 2018 from the Finnish town of Jyväskylä emerged a rock band whose style can’t be compared to any other – well, any attempt to do so would be doomed to fail, only reducing their uniqueness and overlooking their individuality. In fact, S.P.I.T embraces everything today’s rock fans could hope to see on stage – playfully blending nostalgia for 80s glam rock with a truly modern take on the showmanship of hard rock and metal that’s reflected throughout their music and performances. The band’s well-deserved recognition has been growing steadily over the years, earning them a loyal fanbase. It’s no surprise – their songs are impossible to skip on streaming platforms, while their live shows are sure to delight even the most sceptical listeners.
Over recent instagram stories the band shared the meaning behind their latest single, “Fatal Flaw”.
“All my life I’ve struggled with this feeling of inferiority. Feeling like a sidekick in my own life if you will. In school I was always the cool guys’ weird friend at best. I always felt like I walked in somebody’s shadow.” – the singer wrote. – “For the longest time I thought that there’s just something wrong with me, I’m just not as good as those who advocate for themselves loudly and make themselves seen, known and heard. But then I realized it’s just a false belief that got programmed into my brain in my early years of childhood. That it was just this self-fulfilling prophecy living in my mind all along. There’s actually nothing inferior about me. I just learned early on to believe that. And this is by far the single most important realization of my life. That’s why it’s the dearest song of ours for me.”
Three singles out of S.P.I.T’s upcoming EP are now out:
“Modern Messiah”
“Lethal Lover”
“Fatal Flaw”
The release date of the EP “Modern Messiah” is just around the corner – mark 31st July 2026 in your calendars.
This summer the band from Jyväskylä is also going to rock two stages in their hometown:
