Rootbrain unleashes ‘Unawares’ – a crushing onslaught of riffs and raw power

Finnish-German alternative metal outfit Rootbrain has released “Unawares“, the second single from their forthcoming EP “Mothertomb”, set for release on March 5th via Corpsepaint Records. Following their striking rendition of Garbage’s “#1 Crush“, “Unawares” delves deeper into the band’s signature fusion of brooding melodies, crushing riffs, and dynamic intensity. With “Mothertomb”, Rootbrain continues to solidify its presence in the alternative metal scene.

To accompany the single, Rootbrain will release an exclusive live video on February 20th, filmed at their debut performance at Skenesali in Vantaa. The video captures the band’s raw energy and stage presence, offering a glimpse into the visceral experience of their live show.

Rootbrain is a Finnish-German alternative metal band blending elements of blackened grunge, groove, and doom-infused melodies. Featuring members of Triptykon, Profane Omen, and Kuolemanlaakso, the band has carved out a distinct sound that bridges the intensity of extreme metal with haunting melodic sensibilities. Their debut album “Breakwater” (2023) established them as a formidable presence, and “Mothertomb” marks the next chapter in their evolving sound.
