American rock supergroup The Damned Things have released “Trophy Widow” as a standalone single. The song originally appeared on the 2011 videogame Batman: Arkham City soundtrack. Until now, the track existed mainly within that soundtrack setting.
The band comprises of members from Every Time I Die, Anthrax and Fall Out Boy. Their sound has always leaned toward groove-driven hard rock with strong hooks. That approach fits “Trophy Widow” naturally with tight riffs, steady momentum and a chorus designed to hit quickly.
Meanwhile, the decision to reintroduce “Trophy Widow” suggests the band is still paying attention to its past material. Although no new album plans have been announced so far, revisiting this track gives longtime listeners something familiar.
