Rock & Roll Hall of Fame nomination list for Iron Maiden now includes Blaze Bayley

The list of members of the renowned British heavy metal band Iron Maiden who are nominated for induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame’s Class of 2026 now includes Blaze Bayley, who led the band more than 25 years ago. Iron Maiden was included in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame’s eclectic list of 17 performers nominated for induction in 2026 on February 25. This was the band’s third nomination, having previously been rejected in 2021 and 2023.

Despite singing for Iron Maiden for five years and appearing on two of the group’s studio albums, “The X Factor” (1995) and “Virtual XI” (1998), Bayley’s name was left off of the list of individual Maiden band members who were nominated at the time of this year’s nominee announcement. Singer Bruce Dickinson, bassist Steve Harris, drummer Nicko McBrain, guitarists Adrian Smith, Dave Murray, and Janick Gers, as well as former guitarist Dennis Stratton, former singer Paul Di’Anno, and former drummer Clive Burr, were among the Maiden musicians first mentioned on the Rock Hall website as possible inductees.

Fans of Maiden have observed that the Rock Hall website has changed recently, adding Bayley‘s name to the list of musicians that would be chosen if the band were to be inducted.
