Rob Dukes was equally surprised by call to rejoin Exodus

Last month, Exodus announced their split with longtime vocalist Steve “Zetro” Souza and Dukes’s return to the band. Dukes had previously served as the band’s vocalist from 2005 to 2014 following Souza’s departure.

“It happened with Lee [Altus, guitarist], Gary [Holt, guitarist], and Tom [Hunting, drummer] calling me individually to see where I was at. Then they asked, and I said ‘Sure,‘” Dukes told Mark Strigl in an interview.

Dukes also revealed he will begin recording the new Exodus album in early March. “I’m going up [to the San Francisco Bay Area] in a couple of weeks to start doing vocals on the new record. They have a bunch of songs written. Right now they’re working out the composition and drums.“
