A journey into the terror of sleep paralysis, ‘Mind Awake, Body Asleep’ blurs the line between nightmare and reality. Haunting atmospheres, crushing riffs and soaring melodies capture the helplessness of being trapped between consciousness and sleep while unseen forces close in. Blending psychological horror with raw emotion, it stands as one of the most intense and immersive songs Resolve have written to date.
Speaking of the new single, vocalist Anthony Diliberto shares: “‘Mind Awake, Body Asleep’ is about sleep paralysis, something that has deeply affected my nights for several years. I experienced one particularly intense episode a few years ago, and while I’m now better at recognizing what is happening, the line between sleep paralysis, nightmares and reality can still become difficult to distinguish. I’ve also developed a reflex that wakes me up instantly just as I’m falling asleep, as well as a sense of paranoia that gradually sets in as the night goes on. Strangely, these episodes happen almost exclusively when I’m at home, and very rarely when I’m away or on tour.”
