Reflections, a progressive metalcore band from Minnesota, will continue without longtime bassist Francis Xayana, as per Lambgoat. Xayana had contributed to the band’s songwriting, despite the fact that he hasn’t appeared at any touring events in the last year or so. Neither party has yet to issue an official statement.
Reflections used Mixcraft 4, a Windows audio recording and mixing tool, to record and produce their debut album, “The Fantasy Effect”, which was published on April 28, 2012. Reflections signed with the record labels eOne and Good Fight shortly after the release of “The Fantasy Effect”. “Exi(s)t”, Reflections‘ second album and record label debut, came out on October 22, 2013. They have listed Pantera and more as their influences.
On September 10, 2013, “My Cancer,” the album’s lead single, became available for download on iTunes and all other online stores. A lyric video for the song was simultaneously made available on Reflections‘ YouTube channel. Within a week of its release, “Exi(s)t “sold 1,972 copies, making its debut at #179 on the Billboard 200 list.
It was revealed that the group would start recording their third album in February 2015. The music video for the song “Actias Luna” from the then-upcoming album was released on August 18, 2015. “The Color Clear” was later announced as the album’s title, and it was released on September 18, 2015, via eOne and Good Fight. With 3,025 copies sold in the first week and a debut at #6 on the Heatseekers Albums Chart, #15 on the Independent Albums Chart, and #96 on the Billboard 200 Chart, it was their greatest numbers and charting to date.
The band declared at the end of 2016 that they will cease touring and take an indefinite break. The band declared in late 2019 that the sabbatical will end and that a song would be released on December 11, 2019. Logan Young, a new member, and Francis were both welcomed back into the band. “Willow”, the band’s fourth album, was released on February 20, 2020, and it had a much heavier, more chaotic sound akin to that of the “Exi(s)t” era. The three tracks on the band’s 2021 EP, “Silhouette”, were co-written with Vildhjarta guitarist Calle Thomer.
