Finnish melodic doom metallers Red Moon Architect have delivered their highly anticipated sixth studio album, “October Decay”, released today via Noble Demon. This marks the band’s first full-length offering in five long years, and judging by early listens, it was well worth the wait.
Hailing from Kouvola, Finland, Red Moon Architect have consistently carved a respected niche within the doom metal scene, earning critical acclaim with each release. Originally the solo vision of drummer Saku Moilanen, the project has evolved through various iterations to its current potent lineup, fronted by the compelling vocals of Ville Rutanen.
Following their 2020 Noble Demon release, “Emptiness Weighs The Most”, “October Decay” stands as another significant chapter in Red Moon Architect‘s impressive discography. Their sonic journey has seen them traverse diverse landscapes, notably with 2019’s “Kuura”, which ventured into darker, black metal-tinged territories. Earlier albums like “Fall” (2015) and “Return of the Black Butterflies” (2017) further illustrate their evolution and unwavering dedication to crafting deeply resonant doom metal. Over their tenure, Red Moon Architect have solidified their reputation not only through their studio work but also by sharing stages with genre titans such as Amorphis, Swallow The Sun, Moonsorrow, Insomnium, and Wolfheart, and by gracing the stages of numerous metal festivals.
