Rapper Machine Gun Kelly and Slipknot have some beef

Machine Gun Kelly is one of today’s most popular rappers, combining rock and pop punk influences in his music. But apparently the rapper’s favourites don’t include Iowa metal band Slipknot, because at a recent gig at Riot Fest, Machine Gun Kelly slashed at Slipknot, who were performing on another stage at the same time.

“Hey, you wanna know what I’m really happy that I’m not doing? Being 50 years old wearing a fucking weird mask on a fucking stage, talking shit. So anyway, what’s everyone’s favorite candy? Reese’s Pieces?”, Kelly said.

Later during the show, the rapper said:

“Turn the lights up. Let me see who chose to be here instead of with all the old weird dudes with masks.”

The reasons for the rapper’s comments may have to do with Machine Gun Kelly trying to get Slipknot’s Corey Taylor to contribute to his “Tickets To My Downfall” album. However, according to the rapper himself, Taylor’s contribution was “terrible”.

“Corey did a verse for a song on tickets to my downfall album, it was fucking terrible, so i didn’t use it. he got mad about it, and talked shit to a magazine about the same album he was almost on. yalls stories are all off. just admit he’s bitter”, Kelly writes.

Taylor himself responded on Twitter, posting a picture of a private conversation about the celebration:

“I don’t like people airing private shit like a child. So this is all I’ll say: I didn’t do the track because I don’t like when people try to ‘write’ for me. I said NO to THEM.”
