News of the decision by various artists and bands to sell their catalogues for large sums of money to various parties has been in the headlines lately. Sting, Genesis, Phil Collins, KISS and Bruce Springsteen are among those who have sold their output.
British rock giants Queen are reportedly currently at the negotiating table, with a string of hits to their name. According to Bloomberg, negotiations are being held with Sony, and the price is estimated to be around $1 billion. It would be the biggest sale of a music catalogue if the deal goes through.
The deal would include Queen‘s music, logos, merchandise, publishing and everything else related to the band.
Queen rose to new levels of popularity again in 2018 with the release of the film “Bohemian Rhapsody”.
