Propagandhi releases sarcastic new single “Cat Guy”

Author Teemu Hakala - 14.4.2025

Propagandhi, from Manitoba, Canada, are back after an eight-year hiatus with the second single “Cat Guy” from their album “At Peace”, which will be released on May 2nd. The song combines a familiar fast tempo, wry humour and a socially critical message.

From my songwriting perspective, the two things I was thinking of was capturing a little bit of Judas Priest’s Firepower LP as if SNFU’s Chi-Pig was writing the lyrics. Describes singer-guitarist Chris Hannah.

Since 1986, Propagandhi have always gone their own way – uncompromising, politically aware and musically ambitious. The new album was recorded in a turbulent political climate at the Blasting Room studio and mixed by Jason Livermore (Rise Against, among others).
