Californian progressive black metal band Dawn of Ouroboros has released the title single of their upcoming album “Bioluminescence”. The band’s third full-length album will be released on March 7th via Prosthetic Records.

The band explains that the song’s inspiration comes from the ocean and in particular from the biological light production of deep-sea animals. They wanted to create something that would push them in a more progressive direction while maintaining the emotional intensity and melodic elements that are important to the band.

Dawn of Ouroboros combines atmospheric elements of black and death metal in their music. The core members of the band are guitarist Tony Thomas and vocalist Chelsea Murphy. Thomas’ precise approach to composition and Murphy’s improvisational vocal style create an interesting contrast in the band’s music.

The new album “Bioluminescence” features unusual rhythms and structures, drawing influences from both jazz and extreme metal. The lyrics focus on nature and the sea in particular. The album was mostly self-recorded, mixed by Lewis Johns and mastered by Grant Berry.
