Primitive Man unleash massive new single “Natural Law” ahead of upcoming album “Observance”

Denver-based doom/sludge trio Primitive Man have released a new song titled “Natural Law” from their upcoming album “Observance.” The song can be listened to below and on streaming platforms.

Set to arrive on October 31, 2025 via Relapse Records, the new album promises to be one of the band’s heaviest and most experimental works yet, blending their signature oppressive sound with new emotional depth. The record was tracked at Bricktop Recording Studio in Chicago with producer Andy Nelson (Weekend Nachos, Like Rats) and mastered by Arthur Rizk (Power Trip, Blood Incantation, Cavalera Conspiracy).

Clocking in at over 14 minutes, “Natural Law” stretches the band’s suffocating heaviness to new extremes. The track unfolds slowly, layering thick distortion, guttural vocals, and haunting atmospheres that build into a massive, punishing wall of sound. It’s an unrelenting descent into bleakness that perfectly captures the spirit of “Observance.”

The band—Ethan Lee McCarthy, Jon Campos, and Joe Linden—describe the writing process as all-consuming, channeling themes of societal collapse, existential dread, and brief moments of bleak introspection.

The previously released single “Social Contract” set the tone with its crushing sound and dark subject matter, and “Natural Law” continues down that same path, expanding the scope of their suffocating atmosphere.

Following the release of “Observance,” Primitive Man will head out on a North American tour starting in late November, joined by acts including Otay:Onii, Guiltless, Today Is The Day, Buffalo Nichols, and Great Falls.
