“Prima bailarina was a fast-paced thing, but we’re very inspired” – interview with Nenerchy

During Tuska Festival, we got the chance to interview the amazing Nenerchy. We talked about music, movies, AI and more.

Hi Nenerchy, and welcome on Chaoszine. How are you doing at the moment? 

Nenerchy: I’m doing very good, thank you.

Awesome. So, you’ve just released a new album, “Prima bailarina”. When did you start working on it?

Nenerchy: Well, some of the songs have been written in 2023 already, but the lyrics have been changing, and it’s been a process. Most of the album was made after August last year, and then it was ready by February this year. So, it was a fast-paced thing, but we’re very inspired, and we continue next week making new hits.

You have such a diverse range of styles in your music. What kind of head space do you get into to channel this energy that you have?

Nenerchy: I watch movies, yeah. A lot of the ideas for the songs come from movies, like my favorite movies, “Fight Club” and “Texas Chainsaw Massacre”, the first one. So, those are something I channel when I write. And I feel very inspired after watching movies, so it’s a good hobby.

That’s awesome. So, when you’re performing on stage, do you, like, prefer when people are moshing or when you see people dancing?

Nenerchy: I like everything. Usually on my show there is a spot where people are doing gabber. It’s a dance, it’s like EDM kind of dance. And then there is a mosh pit, and then everything. It’s amazing to see all of that in there. But I love seeing mosh pits.

If I’m not mistaken, there is a track in your album that you feature Samy Elbanna from Lost Society. If you had the chance to collaborate with an artist outside of Finland, which one would you pick?

Nenerchy: It would be Pendulum. 

Is Nenerchy a way to entertain people, or your channel to divert all your emotions and feelings?

Nenerchy and me are the same. Nenerchy is just who I am on stage, and every time I put on the outfit, it’s the drama-based princess that I am, and it’s very similar to who I am in normal, everyday life. I like to keep it that way. It’s authentic.

Can you share with us one of your unpopular opinions?

Nenerchy: Nu metal is the greatest subgenre of metal. That’s my unpopular opinon, I love Limp Bizkit.

You said that you like movies and you’re inspired by movies. So, if “Prima bailerina” was the soundtrack of a movie, which movie would it be?

Nenerchy: It would be a John Wick movie.

Okay. That’s cool. Can you share with us your family’s reaction to your project and your music?

Nenerchy: Yeah. My family is very supportive. They love my music. Without them I wouldn’t be doing this. They have supported me, also financially, through all the start of it. It’s been a journey. My mum is my biggest fan, she has a binder with lots of things, like tickets from my shows and so on. I just gave my dad some merch, and he’s like “Oh my God, I love it”!

If you had to give an advice to someone that wants to be where you are now, but maybe is afraid, what would you tell them?

Nenerchy: Just keep doing it. Make connections and believe in yourself, keep on writing, don’t release the first songs that you make, they’re probably not good. Ask advice from people that are where you want to be.

Is Nenerchy your first project or have you ever been in bands before?

Nenerchy: I’ve had, like, punk bands and all that kind of stuff. But it’s, like, it’s been those garage band type things. So, it’s never been anything serious and it’s been, like, ten years ago. But Nenerchy is my first actual artist project.

In 2026, is there a quality that artists need to have to be in music and make music?

Nenerchy: Well, I think nowadays social media presence is very important. And so, the fact that I was very active in social media helps. To be present and authentic. And people really see through the act. So, unless the act is, like, the thing, don’t be acting. Just do your thing. People want to find something to relate to, authenticity is the way.

In 2025 we had so many amazing things. But also we lost Ozzy Osbourne. Was he or Black Sabbath one of your inspirations for music? Or did you just listen to him?

Nenerchy: I have listened to Black Sabbath and I have Ozzy‘s book, the one with, like, advices. It’s great. It’s fun. I can’t remember the name of the book, but it’s in my shelf. I love Ozzy as a character too, it’s very sad that we lost him. I’m very glad that he got to do the farewell show. It’s a big deal and I watched it live.

What are your thoughts about the use of artificial intelligence in the music process?

Nenerchy: I’m saying fuck AI. I don’t like that people use AI in anything music related. You’re not an artist if you make songs with AI, that’s my honest opinion. It happened once that I was scrolling TikTok and I saw this song. I thought “This sounds good”, and then I check it on Spotify, and it was AI. I was like “Oh no”, and I was hating myself because of that. Don’t do that.
