The Swedish dark 80s style synth-pop band Priest, which partly consists of former band members of the Swedish rock heavyweights Ghost, has released their new single “My Lonely Heart“, along with a music video. You can check out the video below:
The music video was directed by Torbjörn Fernström.
Priest comment on the new release as follows:
“With maximum confidence and moved by our own prowess, we hereby release the first single from the upcoming CHAOS EP [out June 20]! ‘My Lonely Heart’ is a gothic dance track for the heartbroken – a song that would fit an EBM club in the Tim Burton-version of Gotham City. So goth DJs – you know what to do.”

“My Lonely Heart” is the first glimpse of Priest‘s brand new EP, “Chaos EP”, which will be released on 20 June 2025 via Blue Nine Records, just one year after the release of their current fourth studio album “Dark Pulse” (The corresponding album review can be read here). As in the past, the masked trio has launched a crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo for “Chaos EP”, “to cover production costs, mastering, printing, pressing and to handle PR, shipping and everything else that goes into a proper release”:
“We’re extremely proud to unleash CHAOS EP this summer and in order to cover the last, crucial costs we’ve launched an IndieGoGo campaign! …we know some of you have been asking for it too. […] CHAOS EP is written and the vinyls are being pressed. But as an independent band managing every part of the release – recording, artwork, pressing, promotion… we’re up against the realities of the budget and we’re simply not there just yet. If we were on a bigger label, they usually cover all these costs up front, but they also keep the bigger piece of the cake. This way we can offer you an ‘unfiltered artists vision’ from song embryo to final product. The funds raised go directly to CD/LP production, distribution, shipping, video content and PR, so every single bit of support helps – whether you grab a perk, share the link or simply stand by us, we are immensely grateful. Thank you from the bottom of our hard working CPUs! ..and remember – chaos is God’s neighbor.”
– Priest
You can find more information about the campaign, including a video and which exclusive rewards you will receive for supporting the campaign, here. Amongst other things, you can confess your sins in a 30-45 minute video call. Priest vocalist Mercury “will listen and maybe even pardon your sins” if you secure the “Confession Booth” perk.
