Belgian post-metal band Amenra has released a new single from their upcoming “De Toorn” EP. The band will also release their second EP “With Fang and Claw” on March 28 via Relapse Records. You can listen to the 12+ minute track “De Toorn (Talisman)” below and on streaming services.

Vocalist Colin H. Van Eeckhout says the “De Toorn” EP completes the “De Doorn” project, which started in 2019. The album highlights the band’s cultural heritage and origins. Its cover art refers to the early days of the band and the “Mass I” album.

The new EPs represent different soundscapes, compositional styles and moods. They offer a journey into the band’s rawer early days, as well as a glimpse into their future as one of the most fascinating experiences of their genre.

Both EPs were recorded at the same time at the Ardennes studio in Belgium with the “Mass VI” album. Van Eeckhout says the EPs feel like a much-needed decision as the band prepares for a fresh start in a career spanning almost three decades.

The band previously released the track “Forlorn” from the “With Fang and Claw” EP. The album delves into the band’s earlier output and their current essence, while pointing the way to the upcoming “Mass VII” album.
