Polaris returns with “Without You”, first new single in three years

Sydney metalcore band Polaris have released “Without You,” their first new music in three years. The band wrote the track following the death of guitarist Ryan Siew, who died suddenly in 2023 at the age of 26. His passing came just months before the group dropped their third album, “Fatalism.” In a press release, they described it as the sound of grief, shock and heartache, and the start of learning to share that with the world.

The single also arrives with a music video. In it, the remaining members perform inside a stark, empty cathedral, while imagery from across the band’s history threads through the clip. Meanwhile, “Without You” marks the first Polaris recording since “Fatalism,” which landed in September 2023. That album debuted at Number One on the ARIA Albums Chart and later won Best Independent Heavy Album at the 2024 AIR Awards.

Since then, the band have toured heavily. In 2025, they made their Knotfest Australia debut and appeared at Download Festival, Rock am Ring and Rock im Park.
