Paris-based synthwave craftsman James Kent, better known as Perturbator, is gearing up to drop his sixth studio album, “Age Of Aquarius,” on October 10th, 2025, via Nuclear Blast. This follows his 2021 release, “Lustful Sacraments,” and promises a thematic evolution rooted in the interplay between conflict, individualism, and dominant societal forces.
The first half of the album dives into human aggression and inherent misanthropy, while the second half champions individualism as a defense against groupthink. Kent frames it as a journey that explores the essential role of free will in modern life.
Leading the charge is the haunting new single “Apocalypse Now,” featuring Kristoffer Rygg of Ulver. The track delivers a dark, danceable anthem about humanity’s self-destruction — our habit of vilifying outsiders and accelerating our own downfall through arrogance and denial.
In addition to Rygg, Perturbator brings in a stacked lineup of guest collaborators including Alcest, Author & Punisher, and Greta Link, featured across the album’s 11 tracks. Titles like “The Art of War” and “Lady Moon” hint at a cinematic sonic journey — from raw violence to introspective liberation.
To support the release, Kent will hit the road across Europe and the UK this fall, performing in clubs and theaters throughout the continent. The full tour includes:
