US post-metal band Pelican have released a new single “Gulch”. The song is taken from the “Flickering Resonance” album, which will be released this Friday, May 16th through Run For Cover Records. You can listen to the new track below, as well as on streaming services.
The band’s seventh album reflects influences from 1990s post-hardcore, space rock and emo as well as traditional metal. Lebec describes how the band is now ready to acknowledge all the musical “outfits” it has worn over the years.
The band finished recording the new album in September last year. It is the band’s seventh full-length and the first to feature the band’s founding guitarist Laurent Lebec since 2009’s “What We All Come to Need”. Lebec left the band in 2012 and rejoined in 2022, and the band’s previous album “Nighttime Stories” was released in 2019.
