The band Peeling Flesh just hired Chip Smith (Infertile Crescent) to replace the former bass player Austin Hirom, who departed the group last year to spend more time with his family, as per MetalSucks. With the exception of a video that the band posted showing the new lineup rehearsing together, which is how they announced his inclusion, you will be able to see Smith performing with the others when they tour Japan in March and Australia in the summer with Sanguisugabogg.

The American slam death metal group PeelingFlesh was founded in Oklahoma City in 2021. Three former members of the deathcore band Strangled—guitarist Mychal Soto, bassist Austin Hirom, and drummer Joe Pelletier—would go on to form PeelingFlesh with guitarist Jason Parrish and singer Damonteal Harris when the band broke up. On September 10, 2021, they released “Slamaholics Mixtape”, their first EP. On December 24 of same year, they published the “Winter Mixtape Promo”.
On June 1st, 2022, they released an EP called “Human Pudding”. They signed with Unique Leader Records shortly after releasing “PF Radio” in 2023. In the fall of that year, “Slamaholics, Vol. 2.” would be their first significant release. In 2023, PeelingFlesh performed with Dying Fetus and Cattle Decapitation at the Oklahoma Death Fest.
