They do say that celebrities die in threes. Ozzy Osbourne, Hulk Hogan, and now the third one. At the age of 69, Paul Mario Day, the former lead singer of Iron Maiden and singer of the NWOBHM group More, passed away. Day, who joined Iron Maiden as their first vocalist in December 1975 at the age of 19, was born on April 19, 1956. In less than a year, he was fired by Maiden in October 1976, and Dennis Wilcock took his place. Day founded More in 1980, and the group’s first album, “Warhead”, came out in 1981. He departed the group before “Blood & Thunder”, their second and last album, was released in 1982. Following More, Day fronted Wildfire for a brief period from 1983 to 1984. In 1985, he joined a revived Sweet that included Mick Tucker and Andy Scott. On behalf of the Chaoszine team, I’d like to extend my deepest sympathies to his family, friends and loved ones.
