Lithuanian art pop artist Patricija has unveiled a new single entitled “Angel With A Broken Harp”. Listen to the track below.
Lithuania doesn’t export pop stars that often. So when Patricija Ruzaitė walked into her Voice of Lithuania Season 12 blind audition and all four chairs turned, people paid attention. The clips spread fast. Every major The Voice compilation channel online picked them up, which is how most international fans found her first. Not algorithm magic. Just a performance worth watching twice.
She came second in the super final. Runner-up, technically. But her final performance became the most viewed clip in Voice Lithuania’s entire YouTube history, and sat number one trending on Lithuanian YouTube for over two consecutive weeks. The numbers didn’t care about the placement.
Here’s what actually matters though. A lot of TV talent show contestants cover their way to a deal and then vanish. Patricija is doing something different. “Angel With a Broken Harp” is the proof. It’s got this gothic, almost haunted feel to it. Alternative pop on the outside, but underneath, there’s an emotional weight that doesn’t slot neatly anywhere. Fragile and heavy at the same time. That combination is genuinely hard to pull off. Most people who try it sound like they’re working for it. She doesn’t.
Her voice has range and control, both ends of the spectrum. But technique isn’t the thing. The thing is that she makes you feel like something real is on the line. BBC Radio 1 Introducing noticed. So did BBC Introducing Rock. Neither of those platforms are in the business of spotlighting karaoke. They heard a genuine artistic direction in her work, and that’s exactly what’s there.
She’s barely started and already has more international visibility than artists who’ve been grinding for years. If “Angel With a Broken Harp” is pointing anywhere, it’s darker, weirder, and more her own. That’s worth paying attention to now, before it becomes obvious.
