A recently filed death certificate has officially confirmed that Ozzy Osbourne passed away from a heart attack. The document, submitted by his daughter Aimée Osbourne at a registry in London, lists the primary cause as “out of hospital cardiac arrest” and “acute myocardial infarction”. It also notes that Ozzy had underlying coronary artery disease and Parkinson’s disease with autonomic dysfunction as joint contributing factors.
Osbourne died on July 22nd, 2025, at the age of 76, at his home in Buckinghamshire, England. Medical personnel responded and transported him to Harefield Hospital near London, but he could not be revived.
Just over two weeks before his death, Osbourne made his final public appearance at the “Back to the Beginning” farewell concert in Villa Park, Birmingham, reuniting with the original Black Sabbath lineup for their first full performance together in nearly two decades. He performed seated due to the progression of Parkinson’s disease.
His funeral and a public procession were held in Birmingham on July 30th, drawing thousands of fans who filled city streets to pay tribute. Family, friends, bandmates and fans celebrated his legacy during moments of collective remembrance.
Osbourne’s death caps a storied career as both solo artist and frontman of Black Sabbath, marking the end of an era for one of heavy metal’s founding figures.
