Details of Black Sabbath‘s highly anticipated farewell concert are becoming clearer as Ozzy Osbourne reveals his limited role in the upcoming mega-event. The 76-year-old vocalist disclosed his plans during a SiriusXM radio interview.

I’m not planning on doing a full set with Black Sabbath,” Osbourne clarified on his Ozzy Speaks show. “I’ll be doing little bits and pieces, performing where I feel comfortable.

The “Back to the Beginning” charity concert, scheduled for July 5 at Villa Park, will unite Black Sabbath‘s original lineup for the first time in two decades, marking a historic moment in the band’s hometown of Birmingham, widely recognized as the birthplace of heavy metal.

HEALTH CHALLENGES

Osbourne, who hasn’t performed a full concert since 2018, has been open about his battle with Parkinson’s Disease. “I’m trying to get back on my feet,” he shares. “Balance is a challenge, but I’m still actively doing things.”

His wife Sharon has confirmed that while mobility is an issue, his voice remains strong. “I’ve made it to 2025,” Osbourne reflected. “I may not be able to walk properly, but I’m still here, which is more than many can say.”

STAR-STUDDED LINEUP

The event has assembled an impressive roster of metal’s finest acts:

Main Stage Performers:

  • Black Sabbath (Original Lineup)
  • Metallica
  • Slayer
  • Alice In Chains
  • Pantera
  • Halestorm
  • Mastodon

Additional special guests are expected to be announced in the coming weeks, including a supergroup of legendary rock musicians.

CHARITABLE CAUSE

Proceeds from the landmark event will benefit three charitable organizations:

  • Acorn Children’s Hospice (supported by Aston Villa Football Club)

The concert is expected to draw tens of thousands of fans to Villa Park, making it one of the largest metal gatherings in Birmingham’s history. Tickets for this historic event sold out within minutes of going on sale, demonstrating the enduring appeal of Black Sabbath and the metal community’s strong support for both the band and the charitable causes.

Industry experts estimate this could be one of the most significant heavy metal events of 2025, bringing together multiple generations of metal artists and fans for a worthy cause.
