Our memories start to sprint away – live report of Our Last Night’s goodbye to Dallas

Author Kasie Noel - 31.8.2025

There’s something profoundly bittersweet about witnessing a band’s final bow, and Our Last Night delivered exactly that kind of emotionally charged farewell at Dallas’ House of Blues. After more than two decades of redefining post-hardcore and becoming YouTube sensations with their viral covers, the Wentworth brothers and their bandmates took the stage one last time in the Big D, marking another stop on their aptly named “The Final Tour.”

Unfortunately, we were a bit late so we missed Grayscale and Wind Walkers – but hopefully there will be more chances to catch them in the near future! The setlist for Our Last Night was a masterwork of fan service, combining their most well-known covers with cherished original songs in a way that chronicled their development as musicians. The band instantly showed off their versatility, which made them internet sensations, by converting a pop ballad into their trademark post-hardcore sound with “That’s So True” (their version of Gracie Abrams‘ hit).

In between covers, the band’s original songs, such as “Same Old War,” “BURIED ALIVE,” and “White Tiger,” served as a reminder to everyone of why Our Last Night had initially gained such a devoted following. And I mean, they wouldn’t dare skipping such iconic tracks, right? With Trevor Wentworth’s vocals soaring over the band’s tight, aggressive instrumentation, these songs demonstrated the unadulterated songwriting talent that exists beyond their viral success.

The band finished their set with “Sunrise,” one of their most cherished original songs. It was the ideal decision to end the evening and, even though it pains me to write it, also their live career. Beginning and ends are part of life, and this show was testimony of this. The Dallas audience was clearly appreciative as the last notes were played and the band took a bow. This marked the end of an era, and a part of us also ended there. Our Last Night celebrated their transformation from aspiring upstarts to fantastic artists, and we’ll keep on cherishing them until we breathe.
