After years away from North American stages, Finnish psychedelic black metal explorers Oranssi Pazuzu are finally coming back. The band have announced a spring tour set for May, which will be their first run on the continent in seven years. This return comes despite the group releasing two albums during that absence, making the timing especially notable for longtime followers.
The tour is scheduled around major festival appearances, including Northwest Terror Fest and Maryland Deathfest. At the same time, it allows the band to reconnect with club audiences across the US and Canada. As a result, the run feels less like a one off visit and more like a full scale return to the region.
Support on the tour comes from Denver’s Wayfarer, whose gothic and Americana influenced take on black metal has earned them a strong reputation on both sides of the Atlantic. Pairing these two bands brings together contrasting styles that still share a deep sense of atmosphere and intensity.
One of the most anticipated stops on the tour is the New York City show at Le Poisson Rouge on May 23. Tickets for all dates go on sale Friday, February 6, at 10 AM local time, while a fan presale is already underway.
Oranssi Pazuzu will be performing material from their 2024 album “Muuntautuja”. Meanwhile, Wayfarer continue to tour in support of their 2023 release “American Gothic”, which has become a defining record in their catalogue.
