Mötley Crüe had earlier this year postponed their planned March and April residency in Las Vegas, Nevada. As reported from theprp, Vince Neil, the band’s singer at the time, reported that he was experiencing health problems and that the band’s camp needed a “unspecified medical procedure.”
To all the Crüeheads who were looking forward to see us this Spring, I’m truly sorry. My health is my top priority so I can bring you the awesome shows you deserve, and I can’t wait to return to the stage. Thank you for all the well wishes that keep reaching me. Your support means more than you know.
Although Neil made a comeback to the stage last month, the 64-year-old performer has now made public the seriousness of the physical condition that kept him out of commission. Neil acknowledged having a stroke on Christmas Day, December 25, 2024, after falling asleep, in an interview with the Las Vegas Review-Journal. According to Neil, he felt good on Christmas Day, but when he woke up that night, his “whole left side went out.”
I had to learn to walk again, and that was tough. The doctors said they didn’t think I’d be able to go back on stage again. I go, ‘No, no, I’m gonna do it. Watch and see.’ I went from people carrying me to the bathroom, because I couldn’t walk myself, finally to a wheelchair. I graduated to a walker, and then I had a cane. Now I don’t need anything. But it’s like a full-time job getting back to where you feel good again. It takes a while to get your brain to start moving your legs, for them to do what your brain wants to do. You try to walk but it doesn’t come out right. I’ve doing that a lot, a lot of running — I learned how to run again. “It’s been tough, but I’m back, I’m 90-, 95-percent to where I was before, and it’s going to be great.
