Get The Shot, a Canadian metallic hardcore band, has a new singer after making two contradictory comments about their breakup with singer Jean-Philippe Lagacé in May. As reported by theprp, the band’s new phase, which is led by Mathieu Dhani (From Dying Suns, First Fragment), begins with the song “Torture Your Corpse,” which was co-directed by Maxime Maltais and Dany Roberge.

Get the Shot, a Quebec-based outfit, was founded in 2009. A self-produced EP called “In Fear We Stand” was issued by the band in December of the same year. Following the release of their debut album “Perdition” in 2012, the band has been bouncing about on record labels. Get the Shot finished a European tour in 2013. The band embarked on two different European tours in 2017: one with Nasty and Lionheart in November and another with Comeback Kid and Deez Nuts in February as part of the You are Part of This tour. As part of a European tour in 2018, Get the Shot played at Heavy Montréal in Canada and the Hellfest festival in France.

They played in the Metal Frenzy Open Air festival in Gardelegen, Germany, that same year. Get the Shot signed with Arising Empire, a German record company, in 2024.

Over countless tours across the globe the band has taken inspiration from many bands along the way and refined their sound, while also taking influence from some of the top heavy artists such as Obituary, Cannibal Corpse and Machine Head. Hardcore community anchorage has never been greater, driven by a clear strategy, a group on top of their game and unwavering dedication. The members remain committed to the core values of authenticity, integrity, and equality at the heart of the hardcore movement, while addressing with disillusioned realism the flaws of an era defined by blind individualism.
