Yesterday the first day of Nova Rock Festival happened and there is a lot that went down. There are three bands that sticked out of all the bands playing.
Even if The Warning played in the afternoon, a lot of people came out to the festival site to see them. The Warning is a band that came all the way from Mexiko to the festival in Vienna and catched everybodys attention. The three women gained recognition when they were still very young and after a world tour last year they found their way to Nova Rock. I really liked how energetic the three sisters were on stage and how much of a good stage presence they had, even tho they are still amongs the youngest of yesterday’s lineup. A very good hard rock, alternative rock band that I think should be checked out live!
Right after The Warning hardcore punk, metalcore band from Kentucky, USA Knocked Loose came to the stage. And what a presence they had. I was third row in the middle and the crowd went absolutely nuts. The fans were going insane and all the crowd energy was fantastic. Moshpits left and right and a big wall of death right at the last song too. The quality of the vocals also really stood out for me on this performance at it sounded just like the studio version.
What stood out of Spiritbox, the Canadian female fronted progressive metal, metalcore band, was definitely how well the light show and videos flow into the music and created a whole performance. The vocals of Courtney La Plante didn’t dissapoint too. It’s nice to see some women vocals in metal and this band should definitely need to be checked out!
Today’s headliner was nu metal band Korn from Bakersfield, California, USA. I found a place on the side of the stage sitting on the ground, but all the way up were so many people that came to see this band, because Korn is legendary. And they also played in a legendary way, what you would expect from a headliner. Fantastic performance!
