A 17-year-old has been charged in connection with a terror plot reportedly targeting the opening night of Oasis‘ Live ’25 reunion tour. The teenager, who remained unnamed because of his age, was taken into custody last month after police received information about what they called a “credible plan” for violence related to the concert. The Times claims that the Welsh youngster downloaded an al-Qaeda instruction handbook, which he acknowledged having in court, looked up ways to get big knives, and kept a list of “places to attack” on his phone. Additionally, he allegedly told his school guidance counselor that he planned to carry out a “Rudakubana-style attack” and lauded convicted mass murderer Axel Rudakubana in Snapchat messaging. The investigation began when he was reported by the counselor and a Snapchat user.

At a hearing held at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on June 21, the teenager was taken into custody and entered a guilty plea to possessing a document that may be used for terrorist purposes. Prior to imposing a sentence, the judge mandated a mental health assessment. Public safety is the main priority, according to U.K. police, and Oasis‘ next tour dates are scheduled to go forward as scheduled.

Rudakubana committed a horrific stabbing spree at a Southport shopping complex in July 2024 and is currently serving more than 50 years in prison. He killed 9-year-old Alice Da Silva Aguiar, 7-year-old Elsie Dot Stancombe, and 6-year-old Bebe King when he assaulted a children’s dancing class with a Taylor Swift theme when he was just 17 years old. He hurt eight other people as well. Rudakubana was too young to be sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
