Norwegian progressive metal giants Leprous announced as Saturday headliner for Kaaos Festival

The inaugural Kaaos Festival, taking place on July 25-26 at the former Wasalandia amusement park area in Vaasa, has confirmed Norwegian progressive metal giants Leprous as the Saturday headliner, marking their only Finnish appearance in 2025.

Leprous has become renowned for their artistic approach to heavy music over the years. Founded by vocalist/keyboardist Einar Solberg and guitarist Tor Oddmund Suhrke during their teenage years, the band has created a unique sound that draws influences from artists ranging from Massive Attack to The Prodigy and even Behemoth. Throughout their career spanning over two decades, Leprous has released numerous critically acclaimed albums, with their latest, “Melodies of Atonement,” released in 2024. The band describes their sound as “a light at the end of the tunnel,” which has garnered them a dedicated following worldwide.

With the addition of Leprous and the upcoming announcement of the band competition winner on Friday, the festival lineup for this year is complete. Festival promoter Arto Mäenpää shares the following about the program:

“The first year’s lineup is now complete, and I think it turned out to be very much in the spirit of Kaaoszine, featuring many different shades of metal music from black metal to nu-metal. Hopefully, as many people as possible will give this new festival a chance, as neither the festival area nor the fantastic bands will disappoint! See you in Vaasa in July!”
