Sad news for metal fans: Due to the current corona developments in the district of Steinburg, the Bullhead City festival scheduled for September 16, 17 & 18 in Wacken cannot be realized. Ticket buyers will be refunded the full price of the tickets and booked additional options.
“We cannot wait to be able to experience metal live again in a rollicking atmosphere. But even more important to us is the safety of everyone involved, including the people of the Steinburg district. To this end, we have been working intensively with the local authorities over the past weeks. Considering the current situation, a boisterous festival, as our fans deserve, is not conceivable due to the measures that have to be taken, which include, among other things, a mask obligation in almost all areas of the festival.”– Holger Hübner, managing director of the organizing WOA Festival GmbH
“The Schenefeld office as the responsible regulatory authority extremely regrets the necessary cancellation of Bullhead City. In these times, however, the health of guests, employees and citizens is paramount.”
– Office director Andreas Faust
“We consider this decision to be the right one, even though we are sad that we will not be able to celebrate a reunion with the metalheads in September after all. We are certain the fans will understand this and would like to express our infinite gratitude to them once again. It is not to be taken for granted that thousands of people express their trust in this way, more so in a situation that is difficult for everyone. Even though we are really downcast right now, we will continue to do everything we can to present them metal live again as soon as possible – in a form we all know and love. At the latest there will be a reunion at W:O:A 2022 which will be truly special!”– Thomas Jensen, also managing director of WOA Festival GmbH
The next W:O:A will take place from August 4 through 6, 2022. Bands like Slipknot, Judas Priest, Till Lindemann, Limp Bizkit and many more are already confirmed, more will follow in the coming months.
