Next month will be the premiere of Judas Priest’s documentary

Author Benedetta Baldin - 16.1.2026

The 76th Berlinale, or Berlin International Film Festival, scheduled for February 12–22, will host the global premiere of “The Ballad Of Judas Priest,” a new documentary about the iconic Grammy-winning English heavy metal band Judas Priest and their incredible journey to the pinnacle of rock and roll, as per Blabbermouth. The Berlinale is a singular venue for artistic discovery and amusement. Every year, tens of thousands of people travel from all over the world to attend one of the biggest public film festivals in the world. The eleven days of February are a crucial trading platform and one of the most significant occasions on the yearly calendar for the media and entertainment industry.

The Berlin International Film Festival has a colorful past. In 1951, during the start of the Cold War, the festival was established as a “showcase of the free world” for the Berlin audience. The Berlinale has evolved into a hub for intercultural dialogue and a venue for the critical cinematic investigation of social concerns, shaped by the volatile post-war era and the particular circumstances of a divided city. It is still regarded as the most political of the main film festivals.

The documentary, which will be co-directed by documentary filmmaker Sam Dunn and Tom Morello of Rage Against The Machine in his directorial debut, will honor the band’s enduring effect on music and culture, which goes well beyond metal. “The Ballad Of Judas Priest” will portray the passion, tenacity, and enduring legacy of a band whose music and narrative continue to inspire generations. It features iconic songs and pop culture mainstays like “Breaking The Law” and “You’ve Got Another Thing Comin’“.

Super proud to announce that our Judas Priest doc ‘The Ballad Of Judas Priest’ will premiere at Berlinale – Berlin International Film Festival this February. Beyond excited for all our German metalheads to get the first look. – Sam Dunn
