A new documentary film about rock chameleon David Bowie is currently in the making. The documentary will be directed by Brett Morgen, who directed the 2015 Kurt Cobain biopic “Montage Of Heck”. Also on board is music producer Tony Visconti, who was David Bowie’s long-time producer.

According to Variety, the upcoming documentary will feature “thousands of hours” of previously unreleased video footage that Morgen has been putting together over the years.

Bowie’s estate has expressed the wish that the film not be made in the same way as the 2018 film about Queen, Bohemian Rhapsody. The sound team for that film is also working on a documentary about Bowie.

David Bowie died in 2016 shortly after the release of his new album ‘Blackstar’.
