The San Mateo County District Attorney has decided not to file charges against the police officer who shot and murdered former Possessed guitarist Brian Montana. Although it was reported that police had shot and killed Brian Montana on April 28, 2025, it was revealed last week that Montana had acted in self-defense when he opened fire on three distinct police officers with three different firearms. This was after the DA declined to press charges. According to reports, the incident began when Montana spent thirty minutes repeatedly revving his automobile engine, presumably in an attempt to irritate his neighbors, because he was furious that they had permitted their lawn clippings to be dumped onto Montana’s land.
