New and interesting specifics about Mastodon’s upcoming album have been revealed

Mastodon drummer-vocalist Brann Dailor recently discussed the status of the songwriting sessions for the follow-up to the 2021 album “Hushed And Grim” in an interview with Metal Hammer magazine in the United Kingdom. 

[The songs are] all over the place. I hear some punk rock in there, but then I hear some insane prog and I hear the heaviest version of ourselves poking its head out again. You can talk all day about what you want to do, but at the end of the day it governs itself — it pulls you where your heart is. I have a story I’m working on, and it revolves around “supernatural horror”. I don’t see a world in which it does not come out in 2025.
