Netherlands drops new fuzz-laden single “Black Fractal”

Brooklyn-based band Netherlands has released a new single titled “Black Fractal”. The track appears on their live album “Live at St. Vitus”, capturing the duo’s high-energy performance and experimental edge. Fronted by multi-instrumentalist Timo Ellis and backed by drummer Don Pusateri, the band blends falsetto vocals, odd time signatures, and hypnotic riffs into a sound that merges sludge, psych, and noise rock.

With a runtime of just over two minutes, “Black Fractal” delivers a sharp hit of chaotic rhythm and melody, showcasing the raw intensity of Netherlands’ live shows.

Although “Black Fractal” was first released as part of their live album back in 2023, the track continues to gain attention from fans and new listeners alike. It’s another example of the band’s ability to blend heaviness and experimentation with memorable hooks and tight execution.

Netherlands originally formed in 2012 and has gone through a few lineup changes before becoming the power duo it is today. Their sound sits somewhere between heavy post-punk and progressive rock, pulling from a wide range of influences while maintaining a fiercely original voice.
