Houston, Texas black metal band Necrofier have released a new video and single titled “Fires of the Apocalypse, Light My Path III”. The track is from their upcoming full-length album “Transcend Into Oblivion”, which will be released on February 27 via Metal Blade Records.
The new single continues the band’s steady rise within the US black metal scene. Since forming in 2018, Necrofier have blended mid-’90s Scandinavian black metal atmospheres with a raw and fiery Texan edge. On “Transcend Into Oblivion”, that approach sounds more focused and deliberate, with icy melodies cutting through dense waves of aggression.
Vocalist and guitarist Bakka describes the album as a Luciferian Dark Night of the Soul. According to him, the opening “Fires of the Apocalypse” trilogy captures the moment of awakening, where doubt sets in and familiar beliefs begin to collapse. As the album moves forward, it descends into struggle and inner conflict before reaching a final stage of rebirth and transformation.
Speaking specifically about the new single, Bakka explains that questioning long-held truths brings consequences. Once the journey begins, there is no turning back, and the path forward demands difficult changes. That sense of tension and inevitability comes through clearly in the song’s shifting dynamics and haunting atmosphere.
“Transcend Into Oblivion” was recorded at Southwing Studios and House Of Thorns in Houston. Joel Hamilton handled production, engineering, and mixing, with assistant engineering by Chris Kritikos.
