Houston, Texas black metal band Necrofier has released a new video for the track “Fires Of The Apocalypse, Light My Path I.” The song appears on the band’s third full length, “Transcend Into Oblivion,” which is out now through Metal Blade Records.
Since forming in 2018, the quartet has fused Scandinavian inspired darkness with a sharp American edge. As a result, their sound channels the cold aura of mid 90s Norway while keeping a distinct Texan intensity. On “Transcend Into Oblivion,” Necrofier pushes that mix further and sharpens both the riffs and the atmosphere.
“Fires Of The Apocalypse, Light My Path I” opens the album’s three part narrative. According to vocalist and guitarist Bakka, the song captures the first spark of inner change. He describes it as the moment when something shifts inside you, even if you do not yet understand it. “New beginnings burn deep in the soul,” he states.
The album follows a strict three act structure. First comes “Fires Of The Apocalypse, Light My Path,” which represents awakening. Then “Servants Of Darkness, Guide My Way” explores struggle and doubt. Finally, “Horns Of Destruction, Lift My Blade” marks rebirth and transformation. Therefore, the concept ties the lyrics and song titles together around a Luciferian dark night of the soul theme.
Necrofier recorded the album in Houston and later mixed it in Brooklyn. The record is available now on CD, digital formats, and several vinyl editions.
In addition, Necrofier will appear at select live events this spring, including a special Houston show alongside Acid Bath, Obituary, and High On Fire. More dates, including a European tour, will follow.
