Nancy Wilson shares the status of the upcoming album by Heart

Nancy Wilson, the guitarist for Heart, revealed that the band’s upcoming studio album is “almost finished up now” in a recent interview with Lyndsey Parker of Gold Derby, as per Blabbermouth. The follow-up to 2016’s “Beautiful Broken” is “really, really strong,” she continued, adding that “the recording’s all done” for the LP. “I think it’s going to be great,” she remarked.

Nancy discussed the process of creating the content for the new Heart album.

We wrote a bunch of new songs and recorded down in Nashville with the players that we just played the last tour with. It was like a secondhand thing with each other because we’ve played so many live shows, so the album was pretty much recorded live. I’m really happy. It really feels like a Heart record.

Nancy made this statement regarding a potential release date for the new Heart album.

Well, we’re delivering it at the end of August. And so, with the world tour to set up and a documentary film to work on and a live-action feature film and an album and a tour and a new management company, we’re getting all of those ducks in a row, so that we can strategize the rollout.

Apart from the forthcoming album, Heart is producing a band documentary and a biography. On August 14, Ann Wilson, the frontwoman of Heart and Nancy’s sister, will release a new album called “Consecrated Ground” with her critically praised psych-rock group Tripsitter. In September, the singer will go on a tour to promote the album; dates are already set for November. Carrie Brownstein, of Sleater-Kinney and “Portlandia” fame, is writing and directing the previously announced Heart biography. Lynda Obst, who has produced over 20 films and TV series, including “Interstellar,” “Contact,” “Sleepless In Seattle,” and more, is producing it for Amazon.
