My Chemical Romance live premiere an unreleased track “War Beneath The Rain”

Over the weekend, My Chemical Romance made an unexpected live debut at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, California, for the first of their two main events. The band performed their song “War Beneath The Rain” live for the first time at their sold-out July 26th opening show this past Saturday. That song was initially supposed to be on the band’s conceptual album, “The Paper Kingdom,” which they abandoned in the midst of their first breakup in 2012 or 2013. Producer Doug McKean, who died in June 2022 from a cerebral hemorrhage, oversaw the recording sessions for that endeavor. The aforementioned track’s premiere was dedicated to McKean by My Chemical Romance.

I don’t remember how long ago it was, but before the band broke up, we had a studio in North Hollywood and we were making a record that never came out and this was one of the songs we really loved from it. It was just us in the studio with our friend Doug McKean, he was there recording it. His family’s here tonight, I want this to go out to them. The song is called ‘The War Beneath The Rain‘.
