With their brand-new single, “Unravelling,” Muse made their much-anticipated comeback. This is the group’s first new song since their 2022 album “Will Of The People.” Before the band played the song during their small-scale warm-up performance at Helsinki’s House of Culture, teasers for the song generated a lot of internet speculative activity. After that, on June 14, 2025, it was unveiled to a crowd of 50,000 people as part of Muse’s main performance at Finland’s Rockfest, to an enthusiastic reception. “Unravelling” adds a fresh perspective to the genre-clash inventiveness that has come to define the Muse experience. A massive wall of barbed riffs and a full-drama hook that pulsates with their maximalist theatricality are unleashed after a foreboding tone is established by ominous, arpeggiated synths. Dan Lancaster, a double Grammy nominee (Bring Me The Horizon, Blink-182), who also plays keyboards and extra guitar in the MUSE live band, produced the song.
