Motörhead have released the second single “Leavin’ Here” alongside with a music video ahead of their upcoming archival album, “The Manticore Tapes”, set for release on June 27th.
The video for “Leavin’ Here” is a wild ride — a raucous blend of mixed media that fuses handmade model characters, custom-built sets, and rare archive footage of the band. The result is a gritty, high-energy tribute to the band’s raw and rebellious legacy.
Originally recorded in 1976, “The Manticore Tapes” uncovers long-lost material from the band’s iconic “Three Amigos” lineup: Lemmy on bass and vocals, Fast Eddie Clarke on guitar, and Phil “Philthy Animal” Taylor behind the kit. This trio defined the early sound and kickstarted their path to hard rock greatness.
That same year, the band hunkered down at the legendary Manticore Studios in Fulham — a facility owned by prog giants Emerson, Lake & Palmer — to rehearse and lock in the chemistry of their newly solidified lineup. During those sessions, they laid down their first-ever recordings together. Nearly five decades later, those tapes have been rediscovered, restored, and are now ready to roar in celebration of Motörhead’s 50th anniversary.
“The Manticore Tapes” will be available in several formats: a deluxe expanded bookpack with double LP and 7″ single, a standard single LP, CD, and digitally.
