Motörhead, the iconic band that has served as a multi-generational soundtrack for millions worldwide, is set to celebrate their 50th anniversary in 2025. The milestone will be marked by a series of special releases and events throughout the year.
Having performed to millions and sold over 25 million albums, the Grammy Award-winning band remains as popular as ever. In 2024, they achieved a UK top 10 single with “Lawman“, accumulated over 320 million global streams, reached 20 million Spotify listeners, and garnered over 112 million YouTube views. Guitarist Phil Campbell reflects:
“It’s incredible to know that our music, and all it stands for, continues to resonate with so many people. Of course we’re enormously grateful to still be appreciated like we are, and truthfully, the music remains as vital and important as ever because there’s a unique energy and honesty to it that we will all always need.”
The celebrations begin with 50th anniversary limited vinyl editions of breakthrough albums “Overkill”, “Bomber”, and “Ace of Spades”, releasing February 28th. On May 8th, International Motörhead Day, a Lemmy statue will be unveiled in his birthplace of Stoke-On-Trent, featuring his ashes in a special ceremony led by Phil Campbell.
