Mors Principium Est’s ninth studio album “Darkness Invisible” out now

Melodic death metal pioneers Mors Principium Est return with full force on their ninth studio album “Darkness Invisible,” which is out through PERCEPTION – A Division of Reigning Phoenix Music. A powerful and emotionally charged statement, the album continues the band’s legacy of intensity, melody, and evolution.

Musically, “Darkness Invisible” delves deep into the group’s core identity. Razor-sharp riffs collide with sweeping orchestration, melancholic harmonies, and relentless rhythmic precision. Yet the album goes beyond familiar formulas, introducing cinematic arrangements, subtle electronic textures, ambient passages, and dynamic shifts that mirror the emotional weight of the lyrics. Vocalist Ville Viljanen delivers one of his most commanding performances yet, alternating between ferocious growls, anguished screams, and rare moments of eerie calm, anchoring the chaos with a deeply human core. The re-forged line-up demonstrates unparalleled cohesion, balancing technical complexity with emotional clarity.

Visually, the album is brought to life through the bleak and surreal artwork of Álvaro Valverde Fernández whose imagery complements the music’s emotional landscapes, portraying twisted forms and fractured realities that echo the album’s themes.
