Modern metal outfit Ashen unleash new single & announce debut album

Chimera is the sound of a Self splitting in two
Emerging from the Parisian underground, modern metalcore unit Ashen redefines the heavy music genre. On their debut record “Chimera”, they don’t just introduce themselves as a band, but fracture open a whole universe, one stitched together from anguish, ecstasy, delusion and clarity. This album is everything but predictable – It’s metalcore through a kaleidoscope: cinematic, unstable, beautifully unwell.

“Chimera” is a brutal yet beautiful descent into buried emotion, and a search for something real beneath the noise – a slow transformation, like watching your own reflection shift into something unrecognizable, something truer.

Never losing its soul, the production leans into modern maximalism; every glitch, every drop, every wall-of-sound moment feels intentional. You can hear the fingerprints of a band obsessed with detail, not just sonically. Lyrically, “Chimera” is a study in becoming: of what happens when you’re forced to confront the distorted version of yourself that pain builds over time.
