Los Angeles-based modern black metal act ØVI have released the lead single “Lilith”, from their forthcoming four-track EP “Hedera Helix”, slated for next year. The dark and tense track also appears in the Kyle Rankin-directed film The Roughneck.
“Lilith” serves as the opening statement for “Hedera Helix”, exploring themes of entanglement, toxic influence, and emotional tension. The band uses imagery of creeping growth and invasive forces as metaphors for relationships or dynamics that slowly suffocate and overtake. The lyric video captures that atmosphere through striking, ominous visuals that mirror the song’s mood.
While ØVI have yet to confirm an exact release date for “Hedera Helix”, the rollout of “Lilith” and its inclusion in the film suggest that the release is approaching. Fans can stream the song and lyric video below, while waiting for more news from the band.
