Mike Milford (of Scars of Tomorrow) has passed away

Vocalist Mike Milford of Scars of Tomorrow has passed away, as per theprp. On August 8, his comrades in the aforementioned metalcore outfit posted on social media to notify his passing. On behalf of the Chaoszine team, our deepest condolences to his family, friends and loved ones.

We’re thinking about our friend and singer, Mike Milford, today as we mourn the news of his passing.

Thank you to everyone who supported Mike and Scars over the past two plus decades. If you ever had the privilege of meeting Mike, you know what an amazing person he was. He was an incredible frontman, artist manager, label exec, father, friend and so much more.

Our thoughts are with Mike and his family today. We hope his legacy lives on through the memories he gave us and all the incredible heavy music he made.

In a personal statement, Milford’s former bandmate from Scars of Tomorrow, Bob Bradley, revealed that Milford had been fighting cancer before to his death.

Rest easy, Mike Milford. You were loved by so many and made a huge impact in the heavy music and hardcore scene during our touring days together and well after. Just thinking about you and praying for your family and all that were there for him during his battle with cancer. Father, musician, music industry wizard and all around amazing guy, RIP and thanks for all the memories my friend.

Outside of the aforementioned band, Milford had a successful career at The Artery Foundation, Artery Recordings, and more recently Modern Empire, where he assisted others in advancing their careers thru management and other roles.

Before signing to Victory Records in May 2003, Scars of Tomorrow released two albums on Thorp Records. Victory performed with Himsa, Atreyu, and Norma Jean following the release of their third album in February 2004. The group was scheduled to tour with Bury Your Dead in 2005 following the publication of their fourth album and second album with Victory, “The Horror of Realisation”. However, all of the members—aside from lead vocalist Mike Milford—left the group just before the tour started.
